MayaUse Maya in ChatGPT and Claude
Ask your own assistant what Maya did today, who your new leads are and what she could not answer, and teach her the answer. Maya works in ChatGPT, Claude and Claude Code as a custom connector: you add one address and sign in with your TryMaya account.
The address to add
Every assistant asks for the same thing, the address of a remote MCP server. Yours is https://trymaya.live/api/mcp/owner. In TryMaya, Settings shows it with a copy button. Maya has no listing in ChatGPT's or Claude's connector directories yet, so you add it by hand as a custom connector, and the menu names below can differ on your plan. Check your plan and your assistant's own help page if a name does not match.
What you will see the first time
- The assistant opens a TryMaya sign-in page in your browser. Sign in with your TryMaya account.
- TryMaya shows a page that says which assistant wants to connect and what it could do: read what Maya did, your leads and the questions she could not answer, and save answers to them. Choose Allow, or Deny to stop.
- You return to the assistant. Ask, for example, "What did Maya do this week?" or "Show my new leads."
Claude on the web, desktop and phone
Anthropic's guide is Get started with custom connectors using remote MCP.
- On Pro or Max, open Customize, then Connectors, choose + Add, then Add custom connector. Enter a name such as Maya and the address above, then Continue.
- Keep the sign-in settings Claude detects, or choose Sign in now, then Add.
- On Team and Enterprise plans an owner adds it first, under Organization settings, then Connectors, then Add, then Custom, then Web. Members then open Customize, Connectors, find Maya and choose Connect.
- Free accounts can add one custom connector. Anthropic's page gives no separate steps for the phone app: add the connector on the web or desktop, then check the app for it.
ChatGPT
OpenAI's current instructions are in Add custom MCP server. OpenAI has renamed this area more than once and does not list on those pages which plans can use it, so check your plan and workspace settings first.
- On the ChatGPT website, open chatgpt.com/plugins, select the plus button and choose Add custom MCP server. Older help articles call this area developer mode or apps; if that is what your account shows, use it.
- Give it a name such as Maya. Under Connection, enter the address above.
- For authentication choose OAuth, read the risk warning, then select I understand and want to continue and create it.
- Install it, then type @ in the message box and pick Maya to use it in a conversation.
Claude Code and other terminal agents
Run this one line in your terminal:
claude mcp add --transport http maya https://trymaya.live/api/mcp/owner
Then run /mcp inside Claude Code and follow the browser sign-in, or run claude mcp login maya from the shell. Add --scope user to the command to keep it in all your projects. This is the command in Anthropic's Claude Code guide.
Cursor and other MCP clients
Any client that supports remote MCP servers with sign-in needs these settings:

What it can do for you, the owner
Five tools, and the assistant shows only the businesses on your own account. If you have more than one business it asks which.

What a customer's assistant can do
This part is for the businesses' side. The address https://trymaya.live/api/mcp needs no sign-in. It lets a person's assistant find a business that has Maya, read what it offers and ask its Maya a question. Two tools send the person's own details to the business, and only when the person asks. Questions people ask
Is Maya listed in ChatGPT or Claude?
No. Maya has no listing, approval or partnership with OpenAI or Anthropic. You add it yourself by its address, as a custom connector. That works in the assistants and plans that allow custom connectors, and your plan or your workspace administrator decides that.
What does Maya see of my chats?
Not the conversation. Maya receives only the tool request the assistant sends, for example which business and how many days, and answers with data from your own account.
Can the assistant change my business?
Only one thing: it can save an answer to a question Maya could not answer, and only if your role allows it. It cannot edit leads, bookings, prices or settings. Text that visitors wrote is passed on as quoted data, not as an instruction.
How do I disconnect it?
Remove the connector in the assistant. In Claude Code, run /mcp and choose Clear authentication.
It does not work in my menu or my plan. Why?
Custom connectors depend on each assistant's plan, region and workspace rules, and the menu names change. Check your plan and the assistant's own help page for the current name before assuming Maya is at fault.
