What is an AI revenue layer?

TryMaya is an AI revenue layer for business websites. Its AI, Maya, helps a business get discovered through AI search, social media and its own website, talks with visitors by voice or text in their language, captures leads and bookings, and follows up with reminders and review requests, using one set of owner-approved business knowledge. What an AI revenue layer does

A business pays to be noticed: ads, outreach, search, a Google profile. The customer then reaches one of a few doors and either gets an answer or leaves. An AI revenue layer is software that stands at all of those doors with the same knowledge of the business, and keeps going after the first conversation: the booking, the reminder, the follow-up and the review request.

The four doors are AI search and assistants, social media links, the business's own website and its phone line. Behind them sits one digital copy of the business, built from its website and the owner's notes and approved by the owner before it goes live. That is why the phone knows what the website knows, and why an AI assistant that asks about the business gets the same answer a visitor would.

An example, not a customer story

A traveller asks an AI assistant for a quiet hotel with a sea view this weekend. The assistant, connected to the hotel's Maya, checks what the hotel offers and, with the traveller's consent, passes them to the hotel's website with the question already attached.

On the site she asks out loud, in German, whether a sea-view room is free. The hotel has a German version of its site, so Maya switches the page to it, brings up the room and offers the free dates. She takes the booking request (Booking plan and above); once the owner confirms it, the guest gets the confirmation and an email reminder, and after the stay Maya asks for private feedback. The hotel owner decides whether to send a public-review link. The lead, the conversation and the booking sit together in one record.

The journey, step by step

Each step below is something Maya does, with the plan that includes it. Bookings, reminders, review requests and follow-up need the Booking plan or above; the phone and text messages are part of Reception.

The steps of the customer journey and the plan that includes each
StepWhat happensPlan
Get foundMaya publishes the business's approved facts as llms.txt and schema.org markup, and opens a connection (MCP) that lets compatible AI assistants such as ChatGPT find the business, see what it offers and ask its Maya. When the visitor agrees, the assistant hands them to the business's website with the conversation so far. Publishing has to be switched on, and no AI engine is guaranteed to cite or recommend a business.Connect and above
Arrive from socialVisitors who tap a link in Instagram or TikTok land in that app's own in-app browser. On supported Android social apps Maya notices this and offers to continue in the full browser, where voice and page navigation work.Connect and above
ConverseVisitors talk to Maya out loud or by text in 70+ languages. She answers from the owner-approved knowledge, scrolls to the right section, goes to the right page, opens verified page controls such as detail pop-ups, and shows the site in the visitor's language: your own version when the site has it, a translation labelled "Translated by Maya" when it does not. When she does not know, she says so and takes the visitor's details.Connect and above
CaptureName, email, phone, what the visitor wanted and any callback request are saved with the conversation in Maya's built-in lead CRM. On Reception, leads also sync to HubSpot, Pipedrive, Salesforce or GoHighLevel.Connect and above (external CRM sync: Reception)
Sell and bookMaya recommends what fits the need the visitor described, answers price objections honestly, takes a booking inside the conversation, checks the configured availability and sends the customer a calendar invitation.Booking and above
RemindAppointment reminders go out by email. Text-message reminders and no-show follow-up are added on Reception.Booking and above (text messages: Reception)
ReviewAfter a visit Maya collects private feedback from eligible customers. Every rating goes to the business, and the owner decides whether to send a public-review link.Booking and above
Follow upMaya follows up with interested people who have not booked, and sends the owner a weekly report: conversations, outcomes and the questions she could not answer yet.Booking and above
Answer the phoneOn an activated Maya business phone line, Maya answers calls in her own voice from the same approved knowledge, captures the caller's details and takes booking requests.Reception

Reminders, follow-up and reviews depend on the calendar, email and messaging connections being set up. Phone answering needs the business's Maya phone line to be activated.

How it differs from tools you may already use

Each of these tools is built for a job of its own, and a business can keep using it. The table shows where an AI revenue layer overlaps with it and where it starts earlier or goes on longer.

Five kinds of tool compared with an AI revenue layer
If you already useIt is built toHow an AI revenue layer relates
A website chatbotAnswer typed questions in a chat window on one site. The conversation is one part of the layer. Maya adds voice, page actions (scroll, navigate, open pop-ups) and takes the visitor on to a lead or a booking, with the same knowledge behind every channel.
An AI receptionist for the phoneAnswer inbound calls. The phone is one of the four doors. On Reception, Maya answers the business line with the same knowledge she uses on the website and for AI assistants.
A CRMStore and manage contacts and deals once a person is known.A revenue layer works earlier: finding, conversation and capture. Maya keeps what she captures in a built-in lead CRM and, on Reception, syncs it to an external CRM. It does not replace a sales CRM.
A review toolAsk customers for reviews and collect them.Maya asks for private feedback after a visit (Booking and above) and lets the owner decide when to send the public-review link.
An AI-visibility toolMeasure whether AI assistants mention a brand.Maya's side is publishing the business's approved facts and answering the visitor an assistant sends over. Measuring mentions across AI engines is a separate kind of tool.

What to expect

  • No engine is guaranteed to cite or recommend a business. Maya publishes accurate facts and a connection; ChatGPT, Google and the others decide what they show.
  • Maya answers from owner-approved knowledge. If a fact is missing she says so, takes the visitor's details and asks the owner.
  • She talks in the visitor's language by voice and text. She switches the page through the site's own switcher when the site already has that language; when it does not, she translates the page in place, labelled "Translated by Maya" with "Show original".
  • Phone answering is part of Reception and needs the business's Maya phone line to be activated.

Questions people ask

Is an AI revenue layer a chatbot?

No. A chatbot answers in a chat window on one site. An AI revenue layer covers the places customers meet a business (AI search, social links, the website, the phone) and the steps after the conversation: bookings, reminders, follow-up and review requests. Maya includes the conversation, by voice and by text.

Is TryMaya the same as Maya?

Yes. TryMaya (trymaya.live) is the home of Maya, made by MyTech Upgrade. It is not related to other products called Maya AI.

What does it cost?

Connect is €299 a month, Booking €499 and Reception €899, each plus VAT. Every plan has a 7-day trial; a card is needed to start, and you can cancel in one click. Free installation is included if you would rather not touch it.

Which websites does it work on?

Any website where you can add one script tag. Guided installs exist for WordPress, WooCommerce, Shopify, Wix, Webflow, Squarespace, BigCommerce and GoHighLevel. Most owners are live in about ten minutes.

Will Maya make things up about my business?

She answers from a digital copy of your business built from your website and your notes, and you review it before she goes live. When a fact is not there she says so, takes the visitor's details and asks you. You answer once and she knows it for every visitor after.

Does it guarantee that ChatGPT or Google will recommend my business?

No. Maya publishes your approved facts in formats AI assistants can read and gives them a connection to ask your Maya directly. Whether an engine cites or recommends a business is its own decision, and nobody can promise it.
